Description
This bug goes by several names, red-shouldered bug, goldenrain-tree bug or soapberry bug, Jadera haematoloma. The red one is immature, and the black and red ones are adults. This on was sitting on a Magnolia tree in Madison County Alabama USA. For bugs I think they are quite pretty.

Nice to meet you Beth. I think they are really cool looking bugs. I have a picture of the adults in my gallery too. Have you seen them? Have a great day. Thanks for commenting.
